Cobb), and you can a good scuffling actress (Evelyn Keyes) whose cousin (Nina Foch) spent some time working at the gambling establishment and you may old good corrupt detective (Jim Bannon). The caustically epigrammatic program, the new cast’s suavely regulated body language out of love and you may hazard, and you may Rossen’s thrillingly restrained and you can fashionably assertive photo (and additionally their governmental conscience) get this to pugnacious but really detail by detail spectacle a low profile antique of your category.” [ 10 ]

Evelyn Keyes takes on the great little woman which brings about the new best in him and you will Ellen Drew is the easy and you may slinky vixen just who will get your towards jams. Thomas Gomez was oily due to the fact villain and you will Lee J. Cobb does an alternate able trip as a tired cops inspector which ultimately shuts the actual situation.
